Description:
The Freedom Film Festival brings you films of all variety, genre and all eras, as long as they have a pro-freedom theme, or represent the struggle for freedom throughout history. And, it’s a good time to get together once a week to enjoy each other and discuss the ideas in these cinematic creations.
It’s not a festival that just goes on for one weekend or all week… it’s a festival that goes on all year and every week (excluding a few conflicts)!
We’ll have some special film series, like “Which Dystopia?” (are we in) and the “Rabbit Hole Review”. Look for our individual event listings to see what we’ll watch that week. You should also see the individual film night listings in the Wearehouse Calendar and on fsp.org/calendar.
Sometimes, we’ll find something that’s particularly timely given current events, or we may go down a rabbit hole of interest to our community.
The films we screen will be pulled from the vast pantheon of known cinematic attempts at representing the cause of freedom on the flickering screen, AND we welcome your suggestions, too.
We’re happy to be utilizing the welcoming facilities of the Wearehouse, in the centrally located and historically significant town of Weare: https://thewearehouse.com .
You are welcome to bring your own food, snacks or drinks, and we will usually have a few pizzas which you can share the costs of with a donation.
Come on over to the Wearehouse for the Freedom Film Festival. A donation of 1 Goldback or FRN$5 to cover facilities costs helps keep this going. We’ll occasionally have to pay a license or rental fee for some films. Don’t hesitate to come if you can’t afford it one week – we want you to experience the education and joy of watching the weekly fare. You can pay it forward later or help with cleanup the night of the film.
